Good morning, gorgeous! 😉 I know seeing some major snowfall across the country is making everyone think of anything but spring. But I’m hear to remind you that spring fashion season is upon us! Let’s hope this was our last snow storm for awhile (fingers crossed!). To cheer you all up and get you in the mood for spring, I’m sharing an outfit featuring two trends that I have been seeing everywhere lately: Peplum tops and colored denim.
There’s something about light colored denim that makes me think of spring. I tend to wear neutrals all winter, so once spring hits, I’m definitely ready to add some pops of color to my wardrobe! I love these light-olive colored jeans. I feel olive is usually more of a fall color, but for spring this season, I’ve seen a lot of light-olive and sage tones coming into play. This color looks amazing on any skin tone and really adds a little fun and pop to any neutral top you choose to pair with it.
This peplum top from Francesca’s is going to be my go-to spring top. It’s so easy and versatile! The loose peplum is huge this season. I’m seeing it everywhere. It adds a little structure to the standard black top, and is a lot more casual than your typical form-fitting peplum. You can style this type of top with colored denim like me, or with jeans, a form fitting skirt, or with a maxi skirt for a loose, boho-inspired look. Whatever your personal style is, you can definitely rock one of these tops this season.
I styled this look with more of a casual, every-day wear vibe. I paired it with a gold layered choker necklace to give a little more “oomph” to the neutrality of this outfit. I also chose some simple taupe booties to keep the attention on the colored denim. You all know me, and I like to keep it simple when it comes to accessorizing casual outfits!
Hope you all have an amazing rest of your week. Comment below with your favorite color of denim you want to rock this spring!
