Can you believe we’re already into our third week of the year? Time is already ticking by. I wanted to give a quick shout out to all of you who’ve supported me through my new blog launch these past few weeks. I hope you love what you see and your support really does mean the world to me. Now who’s ready for some studs and leather?
For today’s post, I’m sharing one of my favorite edgy looks for the winter season. I was inspired by one of my all-time favorite musicals, Grease, and created a “Sandy-esque” look as a result. This outfit is complete with pleather leggings, studs, and killer heels. This look was also featured in a post centered around 90’s fashion on A Blissful Haven. Check that out as well to get some more retro fashion inspiration!
I can’t begin to tell you how confident and fierce I felt in this look. It’s crazy how just throwing on a pair of pleather leggings and sassy heels can make you feel like a complete girl boss.
Looking back, I never used to feel I could rock a look like this. Early on, my style was very relaxed and safe. I never thought I could pull off something like this and didn’t dabble too much into my edgy side. Now, I can’t believe how silly that sounds! I absolutely love this look, and I have felt more confident shooting in this than I have felt in almost any other shoot. It’s time to let go of the stereotypes surrounding different fashion trends and to stop funneling personal style into one or two niches. Experiment and have fun! Style is born with YOU.
Are you looking to add some edge to your favorite pieces in your closet? Pair it with one or two of these suggestions to instantly add some sass.
- Leather leggings
- Ripped black denim
- A killer pair of heels (think studs, cage heels, or an animal print pattern)
- Moto booties
- Leather jacket
- Metallic statement jewelry
- Fun shaped sunglasses (cat eye, aviator, etc.)
So I challenge you, this week or weekend, try this rocker style. Grab a off the shoulder sweater or blouse, leather leggings, tight skinny jeans, or a killer pair of heels and challenge yourself to step out of your comfort zone! Knowing you are absolutely rocking an outfit will unlock a feeling of empowerment and confidence you may not have felt in a long time.
Have a great week!
