The Giving Keys

Hi readers, happy Tuesday!  Today I wanted to write about a cause called “The Giving Keys”.  The Giving Keys is an organization that partners with non-profits to provide relief for those affected by homelessness and poverty. Their main products include selling necklaces, charms, bracelets, or the like where they recycle old keys and engrave an inspirational word on them of the customer’s choice.
They come in a variety of options: different colors, different chain lengths and types, etc.  My boyfriend, Josh, gifted me one of these for my birthday this past year and I absolutely fell in love with it.  I received mine in a necklace form, and it is one of the most versatile jewelry pieces that goes with just about anything in my closet.

My key is engraved with the word “Fearless”.

The Giving Keys is a “Pay it forward” company.  The concept is simple:  Wear the necklace and embrace your word.  When you feel like there is someone in your life who needs to live that word more than you do, you pass the necklace on to them.  It’s a pretty cool and unique idea.

When I wear my necklace, it is a constant reminder for me to seize the day and get out of my comfort zone: be fearless.  Every time I look at it throughout the day, it helps me push myself to do something I normally wouldn’t such as taking more initiative in a project at work, or talking to someone new that I normally wouldn’t have.  For me, it’s a healthy reminder that to get to the next level in almost anything in life, you must act and live fearlessly.

What makes this piece of jewelry different than anything else I own, is that it gives me something to look forward to.  It makes me excited for the day I can pass on my key and make someone’s day by reminding them to live fearlessly.  It sparks stories and conversation of how I chose to live fearlessly while wearing this key.

I just love this unique idea and cannot say enough good things about it. I highly recommend these as a unique gift for someone you care about.  It’s such an intentional gift to give someone, while also supporting an amazing cause.

If you’re looking for more information about this cause or are interested in purchasing one of these, go to  There, you can read the amazing story of how this business was started.

If you own one of these, I’d love to hear your stories about your word and how you choose to live it out! Otherwise if not, I’d equally love to hear what you think of this idea.

Thanks for reading!

♥ Leah
