Two Ways to Wear It: Boho Summer Tunic

Guys, I’m back!

It’s so nice to be back to blogging and pursuing my passions.  Let me say, this was a much needed blogging break for me.  Life was so crazy and I felt like I was going through too many life changes at once.  But more on that later…I can’t wait to be back to sharing outfit inspiration with you!

Shooting this post was such a blast for me and it really shows my love for the boho trends out there today.  I was so comfortable in these looks and I cannot wait to share them today!  Flowy tunics are a huge trend right now, but sometimes it’s hard to know how to style them because they can fall at awkward lengths.  I’ll be the first to admit that my go-to was always to throw on a pair of leggings or jeans and wah-lah.  But, guys, there’s so much more you can do!  Today I’m sharing 2 other ways to wear and style a loose, boho tunic so you can rock whatever trend works for you!

Look One.

Most tunics are long enough where you could actually wear it as a dress (especially you short girls out there).  Being a little taller, it’s typically a toss up whether or not I can actually pull this one off without accidentally showing the world a little too much! 😉  This tunic from Apricot Lane Peoria, however, was just the perfect length!  I like to say, that a general rule of thumb would be that if the tunic is at least finger tip length, then definitely rock is as a dress!  I decided to style this with a pair of booties and not sandals because I believe that booties create an illusion that the dress is longer than it is.

Look two.

I feel we forget that wearing a tunic with shorts is a thing! And guys, it’s so stinkin’ cute!  The trick to this is the infamous front tuck technique.  I’ve seen this from bloggers everywhere and it really does change the way your basic tees, over-sized sweaters, and tunics look when styled.  With this look, I took the front of the tunic and subtly tucked it directly behind the front button of my white shorts.  I love the cascading look it gave the tunic and totally changed the way it looked.  Especially for you tall girls, this is definitely a look for you to rock!

I had so much fun shooting this look and CANNOT WAIT to show you what else I have up my sleeve.  Follow me on Instagram (@bloomboutiqueblog), Facebook (@BloomBoutiqueBlog), and Twitter (@bloom__boutique) to stay up to date on my latest posts and day to day fashion inspiration.  Leave a comment below with what you think of this look!

  1. I’m a little too tall to pull of wearing tunics as dresses but I love the look with shorts! That tunic is a gorgeous color on you and looks SO cute both ways you styled it <3

    1. Thanks girl 🙂 yeah I’m 5’8″ so I’m right on that line! I love the shorts look and the high low silhouette. I’ve been seeing it everywhere!
