4 Reasons You Should Join a Fantasy Football League Next Year

Hi loves!  Another football weekend is upon us with Thursday night, Sunday, and Monday night football.  A few years ago, I used to only really care about the one day a week MY team (the Green & Gold of course) would play, that is, until I joined my first fantasy football league 2 years ago.  It’s given me not only a better understanding of the NFL as a whole, but it’s given me a little more of a competitive edge as well. 😉  I have nothing but good things to say about it!!  It’s unfortunately a little late to join a league this year, but here are 4 reasons why I feel you should hope on the train and join a fantasy football league next year.

Learn more about the sport of football.

I always knew I loved watching the sport of football since I was a little girl.  I was born and raised a Green Bay Packer fan.  My parents are season ticket holders, and I have a ton of extended family who live in Green Bay.  Growing up, I always knew the basics of football but I realized recently that I never knew the sport of football, I just knew the Green Bay Packers.  After joining fantasy, I was watching more football than I could ever imagine, and I absolutely fell in love with the sport (not just my team)!  Trust me; it helps you really learn your stuff.  There’s a difference between being a fan of your team or of the sport if you’re trying to talk football with your buddies!

Trash-talk your friends.

Joining a fantasy league is a great way to keep in touch with old friends and make new friends!  It’s fun to get competitive and even trash talk a little. 😉 Fantasy football brings my friends and I together and gives us an excuse to throw a lot of football parties. Let’s be real, chicken wings, beer, and your best friends…nothing better.  I’d be lying if I said the social aspect of fantasy wasn’t my favorite part!

Become more than a football fan, join the community!

This one kind of goes along with #1… when you gain knowledge of the sport of football, you almost become a part of a new family. Football is more than just a sport, especially in the USA. Football is a way of life. Getting more involved by joining a fantasy league helps you connect with new people as you learn more about your players stats and football knowledge. You become a part of something greater than just being a fan.

Make your lazy Sunday more interesting.

Instead of turning on your favorite Netflix show this Sunday, turn on some football! Its literally on all day, so once you turn it on, you won’t be turning it off.  Have a few friends over, put on your favorite game day shirt and make a day of it!  What’s cool about fantasy is you’ll always have players in multiple games so it really does become an all day affair!  Sunday Funday’s are the best, and during football season, every Sunday is Sunday Funday. 😉

Are any of you guys in a fantasy league? If so, how are you doing so far?? If you aren’t, are you thinking about joining next year? I’d love to hear your thoughts! Thanks for reading!!
